Guided by my grandfather, we ventured into dewy paddocks, scouring for field mushrooms as the sun peeked over the horizon, igniting my passion for fungi. Back home, my grandmother transformed these humble mushrooms into savoury delights, awakening my taste buds to their potential.

Years later, a Netflix documentary titled “Fantastic Fungi” illuminated the intricate connection between trees and fungi, sparking a deep-seated curiosity within me. Inspired by the documentary and a conversation with a friend, I embarked on a journey of research and self-discovery, seeking hope after a diagnosis of cancer.

Incorporating mushrooms into my conventional treatment regimen, I experienced firsthand the mushrooms’ transformative effects, culminating in remission two years later. Through introspection and connection to the natural world, I realised the profound interconnectedness of all living beings, which fueled my desire to share the gift of mushrooms with others.

Setting up an urban mushroom farm with my family became my mission, a labour of love rooted in nurturing and sharing the miracles of nature. From humble beginnings to a flourishing family enterprise, my journey with mushrooms echoes the timeless bond forged with my grandfather amidst dew-soaked paddocks and the promise of a new day.
